iPhone to Be Distributed in Asia, Australia

Apple Inc. has recently signed an agreement with Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Globe Telecom Inc., and Optus (a Singapore Telecommunications subsidary) to offer iPhone distribution throughout Asia and Australia later in the year, confirming suspicions of further agreements following Vodafone’s announcement of a deal last week. Vodafone–in addition to Optus–has plans to offer the iPhone in Australia, while SingTel, Barti Airtel Ltd., and Globe Telecom Inc. have plans for distribution throughout Asia.

Apple Opens Boston Store

Apple recently opened its retail store in Boston, which is currently Apple’s largest store to date at a whopping 21,350 square feet. Apple Parody Hidden Within GTA IV

Rockstar Games has included an Apple parody within Grand Theft Auto IV, found by accessing one of the computers in the game’s internet cafe. The mocks the Mac with Fruit and the iPhone with the iFruit phone, which apparently has “No buttons. No reception. No storage capacity. All ego.”

Why the iPod touch?

When the iPhone was released, its claim to fame was enormous–greater than that of any other mobile device that I’ve ever seen. Now, as a non-AT&T mobile user, the iPod touch is my main mobile device. I use it even more often than I use my cell phone, which is definitely making a statement. Here are just two main points of why the iPod touch has made my life easier all around.

iTunes Music Store’s Birthday April 28

On April 28, 2003, Apple added the iTunes Music Store to its fourth version of the iTunes program, introducing the current source of 70% of the world’s digital music download market. As of January 9, 2008, it had attracted four billion song downloads and a single-day record of 20 million songs on December 25, 2007.
