Review: BeTwittered - A Twitter App for iGoogle

Most of us Mac geeks are known online from our YouTube, Flickr, Blog, Ustream, etc., but all of us geeks come together at one place. Twitter, the new way micro-blog and keep in touch with your friends. Twitter is even heard to be coming more popular then Facebook!

Now, there are different ways you can post onto Twitter. You can type it on Twitter.com, send a text message to 40404, or you can now download different desktop applications that have everything you need. For Mac there’s Twitterrific, Twhirl for Windows and OS X, ThinCloud for iPhone, and now, for iGoogle, BeTwittered.

BeTwittered is simply amazing. Once you get it on your iGoogle page, you have no need for your desktop Twitter application. It shows your recent posts from people you have followed and then there is a box for where you Tweet. Surprisingly, it does not take up a lot of room, and it will not make your iGoogle page load slower (for me at least).

One of the things about BeTwittered that I don’t like exactly, unlike Twhirl and Twitterrific, you can’t see what program the person, “tweeted” from. Also, unlike Twhirl (for all I know) you cannot search a person or use the built in Snurl URL shortener. Otherwise, BeTwittered is amazing if you have iGoogle for your Homepage and you don’t exactly want to download Twitterrific or Twhirl.
